RDS Partnership congratulates Johor Plantations Group Berhad (JPG) on its venture with Fuji Oil Asia Pte. Ltd. (Fuji Oil), a subsidiary of the Fuji Oil Group, to develop a specialty oils and fats refinery operating on renewable energy. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the production of palm oil in Malaysia towards sustainable business practices in the palm oil industry, reflecting their shared vision of transforming the sector while balancing economic growth with environmental stewardship.
Additionally, it aims to set new standards for transparency, innovation, and quality in the palm oil industry by leveraging JPG's expertise in sustainable cultivation and Fuji Oil's advanced processing technologies. By creating the end products (specialty oils and fats refinery), JPG will enable the production of premium palm oil derivatives and specialty products, enhancing market competitiveness for both JPG and Fuji Oil. The extra revenue streams throughout the value chain will also provide JPG with added protection against potential risks, strengthen resilience in the ever-changing market landscape, and enable higher margins for the company's palm oil products.
We are pleased to have played a part in the exercise as JPG’s solicitors. Our Partners Falisa Abu Bakar (Energy, Project and Infrastructure) and S. Saravana Kumar (Tax, SST & Customs) together with Associate, Nur Shohidah Ramlee, were the key lawyers involved in this corporate exercise.
